Definitions

The following definitions help set the right definitions when reading the terms and conditions.

Meraki Post

Meraki Post is a group of friends running the site, www.merakipost.com, henceforth referred as ‘Meraki Post’, ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our site’, or ‘the site’.

Requestor or customer

Any entity that places a request for a service that’s provided by Meraki Post.

User or consumer

Any entity that uses Meraki Post, or the services offered by Meraki Post, but is not a requestor.

Meraki Post is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.in.

  1. Meraki Post isn’t a store. We only have links to the products on popular and trusted e-commerce stores in India. The respective stores are responsible for the transactions that happen on their pages.
  2. We do not track who clicks on what—we value your privacy.
  3. We do not necessarily endorse the books linked to. Recommendation and endorsement are two different things.
  4. The price of the product doesn’t change when using the affiliate links on our site. Meraki Post would earn a small commission (mostly in single-digit percentage) for the sale, which would be from the respective store’s profit share. We are not allowed to offer discounts to anybody using the site; doing so would warrant legal actions against us.
  5. Upon clicking the “Buy the book” links in our reviews, you would be redirected to the respective stores for further transactions.
  6. We are not responsible for failures occurring after your being redirected to the product pages, or any dissatisfaction arising from the purchase of the products; the respective stores are responsible for this.
  7. You are connected to Meraki Post using an encrypted connection. We have also ensured to have only secure links to the online stores. However, this is provided without any sort of warranty, explicit or otherwise.

Paying for reviews is a way of prioritising reviews, apart from providing a monetory support to Meraki Post. Paid reviews are governed by the following:

  1. Paid reviews would be prioritized in time over voluntary reviews (reviews of books that we voluntarily pick to read). Therefore, paid reviews would take precedence over voluntary reviews, in terms of schedule.
  2. Paying for review does not have any effect on the reviews themselves. A good book would get a good review whether the review was paid for or not; a bad book would get a bad review even when the review was paid for.
  3. When the paid review is at the beginning of the queue for paid reviews, the base turn-around time for a review would be ten days for books that are up to 250 pages long. The time required to read the book, write the review and publish it constitute the turn-around time.
  4. Meraki Post publishes reviews on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and the 30th of every month. Availability of these slots affect the publication date of the review, apart from the turn-around time.
  5. The queue for paid reviews also follows the first-come-first-served model. Therefore, if there are three paid reviews in queue, the paid review request received next would be scheduled for the fourth paid review slot from the day the book and the payment for the request were received. As an example, if the 5th, 10th and the 15th of a certain month are booked for paid reviews, the review corresponding to the paid request received next would be scheduled for the 20th of the month.
  6. All payments should be made prior to the publication of the review. We would proceed with reviewing the book only after the payment is received.
  7. Paid review requests cannot be cancelled. Payment made for reviews are non-refundable.
  8. All reviews posted on Meraki Post are the property of Meraki Post, unless otherwise noted. Users/requestors/other entities have no rights over the publication (with the exception of governmental bodies dealing with the Law).
